Core Equation: A Thankful People = A Loving Church.
This February, we return to the most foundational catalyst for personal and corporate transformation: a heart of gratitude. Our 2026 journey “Back to Basics Towards Transformation” begins not with a program, but with a posture. Psalms 116:1 reveals the irreducible sequence: Divine Encounter (He heard me) → Human Gratitude (I am thankful) → Covenant Love (Therefore, I love).
When we drift from thankfulness, our love for God and for one another grows cold, transactional, and conditional. We return to the basic, transformative practice of remembering and declaring God’s specific faithfulness. This thankfulness is not a passive feeling but the active, collective memory of the church—recalling who God is and what He has done.
A congregation that practices this discipline becomes, by definition, a more loving church. Gratitude:
- Softens Hearts: It replaces entitlement with humility, criticism with grace.
- Shifts Focus: From what we lack to the abundance we have in Christ.
- Fosters Unity: Shared thankfulness kills comparison and jealousy.
- Compels Mission: Love received and acknowledged naturally overflows in love for others.
